In-room humidification

Only 20% relative humidity

When Frequentis merged its three locations in a new company building in Vienna in 2006, the issue of "humidity" became a matter of great urgency: "In the first winter, we measured a relative humidity of less than 20% at times," recalls Kurt Feuchtinger, Head of Facility Management. The high sensitivity of the components makes it necessary to ensure comprehensive ESD protection in order to rule out possible damage or long-term effects. In order to ensure a sufficiently high humidity that increases the conductivity of the material surfaces to such an extent that electrical charges can be dissipated without any problems, the facility management team worked intensively with the QA officer to find solutions for additional air humidification.

Hygiene and safety

When choosing the right air humidification, the strengths and weaknesses of the systems were compared: "Initially, we had considered steam humidification in the air conditioning duct. However, the high energy costs and the complicated maintenance spoke against it for us," says Kurt Feuchtinger. Since 2008, more than 50 DRAABE TurboFog high-pressure nozzle humidifiers have been in use directly in the assembly, production and warehouse halls. The maintenance concept was another decisive factor in the choice of the humidification system. As part of the DRAABE full-service rental system, Frequentis automatically receives fully maintained and disinfected replacement systems every 6 months: "This makes the operation of the system as easy as possible for us. We don't have to worry about anything and are always sure that everything runs hygienically and smoothly," emphasizes Kurt Feuchtinger.
