What is a hybrid humidifier?

A hybrid humidifier utilises two adiabatic methods of air humidification. An atomiser unit and an evaporator unit are used in parallel to provide a sustainable solution to problems that arise when either is used on its own. Hybrid humidifiers thus achieve outstanding hygiene standards and highly economical operation.

How a hybrid humidifier works

A hybrid humidifier features an evaporator unit comprising highly porous, durable ceramic elements with a large internal surface area. These are sprayed evenly and across their entire surface using molecular atomisation nozzles. The nozzles are full-cone nozzles, which are supplied with fully demineralised water (between 4 and 8 bar) by a small booster pump. (If a water treatment system with a frequency-modulated pump is used, a booster pump may not be required at this stage).

For hygiene reasons, the humidification water is demineralised using a reverse osmosis system after softening. Furthermore, effective, preventive disinfection of the water must be carried out to effectively prevent the spread of microorganisms. The HygienePlus concept with patented silver ionisation has proven itself here as a sustainable means of ensuring hygiene quality.

The ceramic plates can be easily removed and cleaned with high-pressure cleaners (up to 30 bar). They are therefore suitable for long-term use.

Through the combination of atomisation and evaporation, the humidification water introduced is utilised optimally and the amount of excess water produced is very low. It can therefore, and also for hygiene reasons, be discharged freely and is no longer fed back into the humidification water circuit.

Hygiene function / Flushing

To prevent water from standing, any spray circuit that is not active is automatically drained via the corresponding spray valve (the spray valves are connected to the drain when de-energised). If the conductivity in the supply line is exceeded or if the humidification system remains inactive for longer than 23 hours, a flush valve opens and the deionised water supply line, as well as the lines in the central unit, are flushed with fresh deionised water for a specified period. During flushing, any residual water in the spray circuit pipes is additionally extracted by the built-in water jet pump.

Effective germ neutralisation

The germ diagram illustrates the rapid spread of microorganisms if no suitable measures are taken to contain them. For germ neutralisation and preventive protection, the HygienePlus® concept relies on natural germ inhibition through silver ions. The electronic control system with automatic capacity monitoring ensures precise dosing with a constant germ-killing effect. The silver ions thus ensure hygienic conditions in all water-wetted components of the humidification system.

System Structure

Professional planning is the basis for functional quality and energy efficiency. We are happy to assist you in the planning phase.

Fine filter

Pipe Disconnector

Softener

Optimal water treatment first of all requires the softening of the humidifying water. A softener performs this task reliably.

Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment

A reverse osmosis system supplies mineral-free humidifying water.

Control Unit

The control unit is the heart of the Condair DL hybrid humidifier. The control and regulating operations take place there.

HygienePlus® System

The HygienePlus® silver ionization and the optional sterile filter are used as preventative hygiene measures and offer lasting hygiene safety.

Atomizer Unit

The optimal layout of the atomizing nozzles ensures uniform humidity distribution. Electrical current consumption is low because of the low-pressure operation.

Evaporator Unit

The patented ceramic evaporator unit maximizes use of the valuable humidifying water. The separating efficiency of the ceramic ensures hygienic operation.
